Results of the DFG Team Statistics 2025

Following the conclusion of the 2025 reporting year, we have analyzed the data from our coordinated programs. Transparency is a key component of our research culture, which is why we are sharing a detailed look at the people behind TRR 379.

We are particularly pleased with the development of our gender distribution. In 2025, women make up 55% of our team across all status groups. This highlights our commitment to fostering diversity within the scientific community.

A closer look at the specific career stages reveals a strong pipeline of female talent: women represent the majority among postdocs and doctoral researchers. At the professorial level, we continue our efforts to further balance this ratio.

Team Structure #

Our project structure is characterized by a well-balanced hierarchy. With a total of 94 active participants in the reporting year, we maintain a healthy equilibrium between experienced researchers and early-career scientists. The proportions of doctoral candidates (approx. 28%), postdocs (approx. 27%), and professors (approx. 28%) are nearly equal. This fosters an environment of exchange among equals, ensuring both excellent supervision and fresh perspectives for our research topics.

International Collaboration #

While TRR 379 remains firmly anchored in the German research landscape, we are steadily expanding our network beyond national borders. Although the majority of our team is based at German institutions, the contribution of our European and international colleagues remains a vital element of our global perspective.
